On September 25th 2008, progressives came together in 251 emergency rallies in 41 states
saying NO to the $700 billion Bush corporate bailout for Wall Street. As a result, the tax giveaway, assumed to be a "done deal" only a few days earlier
was stalled and being reconsidered by lawmakers who are stunned by the speed and scale of America's
reaction. Instead, Congress turned to work on an economic recovery package for Main Street.
